Why we do it this way
A driver medical is only any use if you walk out with the right form, filled in properly and signed.
Taxi drivers, lorry and bus drivers, and people adding C1 or D1 all need the same Group 2 examination. The difference is whose form it goes on. We keep those forms here, so you don't have to chase one before you come.
The clinic is at Lime Square Medical Centre on Ashton Old Road. We open in the evenings and at weekends because most drivers can't take a weekday off the road.
Who you'll see

- GMC registered GPs
- Every doctor on our team is a GP on the General Medical Council register.
- Group 2 experience
- Our GPs regularly examine taxi, private hire, lorry and bus drivers.
- One standard
- Every examination follows the DVLA's Group 2 standards, whichever doctor you see.
- Explained before you go
- Your doctor goes through what's been recorded on your form before you leave.
What you can expect
- 01The official form, every timeWe keep the current forms for 67 licensing authorities and the DVLA D4. When a council changes its form, we switch to the new one.
- 02Done before you leaveYour doctor fills in and signs the form while you're in the room, so there's nothing to collect later.
- 03Prices up frontEvery driver medical costs the same, with the eye test included. The price you see when you book is the price you pay.
- 04Accounts for employersTaxi firms, hauliers and other employers can open an account and have their drivers' medicals invoiced together.
